In 1997, Scott opened a computer & software store in Portland Oregon, where he started marketing software and computer repair services online. After several years and a great education, he realized he would much rather work with other businesses wanting to be found on the search engines.
Closing the retail store in 2002, he founded Search Commander, Inc., and has been working for clients and attending and speaking at national search marketing conferences ever since.
Today, Search Commander, Inc. is an internet consultancy with multiple services and brands, including SEO Automatic (a toolset for small businesses and internet marketers), GetWPress (WordPress development and maintenance), and Portland Technology Consultants (PDXTC - web hosting & technical services ).
Scott lives in SE Portland with his wife and two sons, and when he's not using a keyboard or cell phone, is often be found coaching kids baseball, playing racketball, snowboarding or watching tv.
